The basics

My name is Amanda, and I'm blessed with the task of being Hadley's mommy.

I got unexpectedly pregnant a year ago while trying to resuscitate a dying marriage. Hadley's father and I separated when she was about 3 months old. I won't go into all the details because that's not what I want this blog to be about. Hadley and I are currently living with my parents and brothers. Her father has shown little interest in seeing her.I'm still working on convincing myself that that's probably for the best.

I want to have a blog about my adventures in mommyhood. Maybe this will be a place where controversial parenting topics are discussed. Maybe it won't. Maybe I'll only have the time and energy to post a picture every couple of weeks. Maybe I'll ramble incessantly about cloth diapers. Or breastfeeding. I do know I want to have a place where I keep track of my daughter's milestones. I've already forgotten the times and places of so many these past five months!

So, here goes nothing.
